Standing up for what is right
12 July 2013
I've been a Big Brother fan since season 1. Bullying has been an accepted for of game play and strategy. Most notable bully, Evel Dick, used his nasty ways to strong arm his fellow houseguests as his game tactics in season 8. But I did not agree when he physically assaulted a fellow houseguests when he threw a glass of tea on her. That crossed a line and is inexcusable. My opinion is he should have been expelled but he was allows do to continue in the game. I regret not petitioning his eviction.
This season of Big Zbrother has had its fair share of nasty comments and bullying tactics. None so shocking as racist remarks about the Korean and Black housemates. Racial slurs have been used in nasty and malicious tactics this season. The maker of these controversial remarks is Aaryn Gries who denies making the racist slurs. In the wee hours of this morning she crossed a line when she vandelized the bed of the black houseguests, Howard and Candice. She has crossed a line and her bigotry antics should no longer be tolerated.
I am not going to sit silent and sit quietly while these racist antics are being used as acceptable game play on Big Brother 15. I just signed the petition "CBS Television Network: To expel current contestant of Big Brother 15 Aaryn Gries" and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.
Our goal is to reach 25,000 signatures and we need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here.
I must make a stand for what is right and ask you to join me by signing the petition too. Here is my statement if protest. Agree it disagree with me. I respect that. But if you agree with me, feel free to read my statement submitted with my petition signature:
I am deeply offended, being a US citizen of a minority population, that Aaryn has progressed past just a verbal attack on the minority houseguests of Big Brother 15. She has progressed to more threatening tactics of flipping the bed of the black houseguests in an attempt to bully and threaten them as less than. This terrorist action is the equivalent to a burning cross of the KKK. Malicious and threatening terrorist actions should not be tolerated as game play and CBS should expel Aaryn. A line has been crossed. Verbal abuse is often used and is excepted as game tactics on this show and I can understand why the network has allowed this to go on, regardless of making statements that the network does not agree. But to allow a houseguest to threaten with racist and bigotted actions is inexcusable and immediate action should be required. If aaryn is not expelled immediately I will boycot CBS and all their sponsors and send written notices to all sponsors the reasons for my boycott. I will also leverage social media to expose the bigotry allowed on your network and encourage others to join in the boycott. Again, a line has been crossed with "cross burning-like" actions and I believe Aaryn is a threat to the well being of all other houseguests. She is no role model and her actions should no longer be allowed. Do what is right CBS. No action will prove you are only in it for the greedy money and that you have no conscience or regard for the civil rights of your houseguests. Do not set the world back 50 years by allowing the racist terror attacks to continue.
If you are still not convinced and have the Live Feeds, I dare you to watch the camera 3 & 4 feeds from last night (9/11) at around 10:45pm. I dare you to not be compelled to stand up against hate after watching that heartbreaking video. I'll post video if I can find it posted somewhere.
